Not mindless this time
There's a lot of high-fiving coming from the Democratic side of our legislature. The reason for this celebration is the recent withdrawal of a proposed Obamacare replacement bill in the House of Representatives.
Now, what just happened concerning its replacement? A bill was recently proposed, backed by the speaker of the House and backed by the president. Sounds a lot like eight years ago when the Democrats were in charge. Back then, the Democrats went shoulder to shoulder and passed Obamacare (if you remember their mindless mentality: "we have to pass this bill so we can find out what's in it"). And we are now living with their mindless votes.
This time something different happened. Our Republican representatives did not stand in a mindless shoulder-to-shoulder vote. They did their job. They analyzed the bill and many decided it came up short. OK, back to the drawing boards. After all the celebrating and finger wagging is over, let's hope Congress can come together long enough to save us from the original Obamacare blunder. The replacement bill: "work in progress."
