2 face gun, drug charges after shots fired in Glenview

A Glenview Police investigation of a shots fired report July 7 in the 2400 block of Waukegan Road has led to gun and drug charges against Buffalo Grove and Morton Grove men, police said Friday.

Police said no one was injured in the shooting, though two vehicles were struck. A police spokesman didn't immediately have information on what led to the two men, though he said the investigation was extensive, lasting months.

Jose L. Bautista, 28, of the 300 block of Lincoln Terrace in Buffalo Grove was charged with possession of weapons by a felon, possession of a controlled substance and criminal damage to property, and he was served with a warrant from Cook County sheriff's police for possession of a controlled substance.

Eddie Castrejon, 27, of the 7100 block of Beckwith Lane in Morton Grove was charged with possession of weapons by a felon, possession of a controlled substance and criminal damage to property.

The men were arrested at their homes Wednesday with the help of Buffalo Grove and Morton Grove police and the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System Emergency Services Team.

Bond for Bautista was set at $100,000. If he posts $10,000, he would be released with eletronic monitoring. His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 25 in Rolling Meadows. Bond for Castrejon was set at $150,000. If he posts $15,000, he would be released with eletronic monitoring. His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 25 in Skokie.
