Lake in the Hills Rotary Club delivers emergency aid to food pantries

The Lake in the Hills Rotary Club has made cash contributions of $1,000 each to the Grafton Food Pantry and the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry.

These special donations were made to help the food pantries serve the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"At this time of urgent need, we wanted to put our dollars to work in the local community to provide immediate assistance," said club president Jim Wales. "We focus on making a positive impact through our charitable donations, but also through our dedication to service before self."

The Lake in the Hills Rotary Club is known locally for its annual Rockin' Rotary Ribfest, but also for its broad financial and volunteer support of local community organizations, student scholarships, and direct aid to the needy.

The club also sponsors international service projects to alleviate poverty, promote educational opportunities, and improve health services delivery throughout the developing world.

Membership in the club is comprised of local business and community leaders with an interest in its mission of humanitarian service.
