Look for treasure in Mundelein parks

Area residents are invited to try treasure hunting through geocaching at Mundelein parks. The outdoor activity uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or mobile device to hide and seek the more than 2 million containers called "geocaches" throughout the world. There are 17 caches hidden in Mundelein parks through a program developed by Jack Readdy for his Boy Scout Eagle project. Six Garmin etrex20 GPS devices are available on a loan-out basis at no charge for families who would like to try tracking the caches in Mundelein parks. An official information book to get started and track finds book is available for $5 For details and to reserve a GPS device, contact Scott Schleiden atsschleiden@mundeleinparks.org.
