A West Chicago man was arrested over the weekend after unlawfully bringing a gun into a Des Plaines restaurant, police said Monday.
Rafael Torres, 35, of the 500 block of Lyman Street, is charged with felony aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Police were called to La Marina Mariscos, 1261 E. Algonquin Road, about 5 p.m. Saturday because a man there had a pistol in his waistband, according to a news release. Officers spotted Torres in a Ford F-150 truck, asked him and a passenger to exit the vehicle and then found the gun inside, police said.
Torres has a valid firearm owners identification card but not a concealed carry license, police said.
