Woman charged with attempted armed robbery tied to fatal shooting at Oakbrook Center
A Chicago woman faces attempted armed robbery charges in connection with a deadly shooting last week at Oakbrook Center mall.
Chance Jamerson “or one for whose conduct she is legally accountable,” entered a vehicle and pointed a firearm at three people Wednesday afternoon in the shopping center’s parking lot, according to DuPage County court documents.
Jamerson, 29, is expected to appear in court later this week, the DuPage County state’s attorney’s office said Monday.
The state’s attorney’s office and Oak Brook police said they will not release additional information about the charges or their investigation until her court appearance.
Authorities said Justin Hill, 28, of Dolton was killed in the shooting, which also left a woman injured. A spokesman for the state’s attorney’s office declined Monday to identify the injured woman.
Police said the shooting occurred at about noon in a parking lot near the L.L. Bean store and involved a confrontation between two groups of people.
Initially, three people were detained by police, but they were released Friday without charges.
