Route 45 in Vernon Hills to be shut down for railroad crossing repairs
Repairs to the railroad crossing on Route 45 north of Deerpath Drive in Vernon Hills will require a full closure starting at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, weather permitting.
For eastbound traffic, the detour route will be Route 83 south to Route 22 (Half Day Road) east to Milwaukee Avenue (Route 45/21) north. Westbound traffic will detour via Route 21 and Route 60 (Townline Road).
The work is being overseen by the railroad and is expected to be completed by 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9.
