Ingleside woman killed in three-vehicle crash in Wisconsin

A 46-year-old Ingleside woman was killed early Tuesday in a three-vehicle crash along a southern Wisconsin highway, authorities said.

The fatal crash occurred at about 5:21 a.m. on the 21200 block of Wilmot Road (County Highway C) near Bristol, according to Kenosha County sheriff’s police.

The Ingleside woman was driving a Chevrolet Impala westbound on the highway when it was hit head-on by an eastbound Chevrolet HHR that had moments earlier crossed into oncoming and sideswiped another vehicle, the sheriff’s office reported.

Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles and had to be extricated by rescue personnel, officials said.

The Ingleside woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 19-year-old Genoa City, Wisconsin man driving the HHR was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries and is cooperating with investigators, according to the sheriff’s office.

The driver of the vehicle that was sideswiped was not injured and provided a witness statement, authorities said.

The woman’s name is being withheld pending notification of her family, sheriff’s police said.
