VASA Fitness bringing its 11th Illinois club to Mount Prospect
A national fitness club is moving into Mount Prospect’s south side, promising an innovative and affordable place to work out.
VASA Fitness will officially open its 49,516-square-foot facility at 1490 S. Elmhurst Road on Sept. 19. It will be located in a shopping center anchored by Kohl’s near Dempster Street and Elmhurst Road.
The new facility will be VASA’s 11th club in Illinois and 74th nationwide. Other suburban locations include Glendale Heights, Wheaton, Villa Park, Crystal Lake and Northbrook.
“Opening our 11th club in Illinois reflects our continued investment in the state and the strong response we’ve seen from members across the greater Chicago area,” VASA Fitness CEO Michael Osanloo said.
VASA officials said the new club will create about 50 jobs.
The company is creating the fitness space by converting two smaller retail spaces.
The club will offer upper- and lower-body strength equipment alongside free weights, a dedicated cardio deck and a half basketball court.
In addition, it will feature three signature Studio concepts:
- Studio Red HIIT — high-intensity interval training workouts
- Studio LFT — progressive strength training
- Studio Flow — infrared yoga
Beyond the workout floor, the club will offer a pool, hot tub and a full recovery suite featuring a steam room, sauna, red light therapy and massage chairs.
The club will be open for workouts from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the grand opening Sept. 19. Door prizes and giveaways, free coffee and tea from Toms Traveling Coffee Truck, tours and classes also will be available.
