Wheaton Garden Club hosts ‘A Century in Bloom’ flower show

The Wheaton Garden Club presents “A Century in Bloom” flower show on Oct. 2-3 at the Wheaton Public Library, 255 N. Cross St.

Floral designs, created by Wheaton Garden Club members, reflect the following themes: “Tea for Two,” “Bee My Baby,” “Age of Aquarius,” “Victory Garden,” and “Nature’s Artistry.”

The horticultural display, “Turn of the Century,” will exhibit a large variety of specimens of shrubs, trees, flowers, and plants from Wheaton Garden Club members’ gardens.

Special exhibits will focus on “Invasive Plants of the Midwest,” “Weeds: Friend or Foe,” “Caterpie’s Cafeteria: The Spicebush Caterpillar,” and “Host Plants for Butterflies and Moths.”

“A Century in Bloom” is open from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. Wheaton Garden Club members will be available to provide information and answer questions.
