Schaumburg cop named Illinois American Legion Police Officer of Year

The village of Schaumburg is congratulating police officer Dan Fromm on being named the Illinois American Legion Police Officer of the Year.

Officer Fromm received the honor for his courage, professionalism and dedication to public safety, officials said. His nomination highlighted his efforts to rescue a person from a burning vehicle.

This recognition marks the second consecutive year a Schaumburg police officer has received the award. Last year, Emily Zuhr, a community engagement officer, was honored for her leadership in establishing the department's Quality of Life Division and strengthening community partnerships.
