Summer Daze bringing live music, food and family fun to Warrenville
Warrenville’s Summer Daze will be bringing live music, ranging from country rock from the Badger State to nerdy ’90s jams, to the stage on Aug. 7-8. There also will be the annual car show, food vendors, beer and wine, and free kids' activities include inflatables and carnival games.
Grab a meal or some tasty treats at the food booths, including Chick-fil-A, The Dessert Flirt, Polish Shack, Doggie Diner, Genoa Italian Concessions, Kernel Dan’s Kettle Corn, Kool Kat Ice Cream, Mama Coco Mobile Cuisine, and Marino’s Kitchen.
The food booth and beer tents will be open from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and noon to 11 p.m. Saturday on the grounds of the Warrenville City Hall Complex, 28W701 Stafford Place. On-site seating is limited so bring your own lawn chairs, etc.
While you’re there, check out the offerings at the business booths, open from 6-9 p.m. Friday and noon to 6 p.m. Saturday.
Join in “Painting with Pinot’s Palette of St. Charles” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. both nights.
Live music
The two-day festival will open at 5 p.m. Friday with Centerfold, performing songs from the 1970s to the ’90s, including classic rock, pop and country
Coming down from Badger country will be Bootjack Road, one of the Midwest’s newest rockin’ country bands. The four-piece band, with members from across Wisconsin, will plays all things country and rock, as well as some surprise jams, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The high-energy party band Hello Weekend will close out the night from 9 to 11 p.m.
On Saturday, the festival stage will open with children’s entertainer Miss Jamie's Farm from 2 to 3 p.m.
From 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., the teen acoustic guitarist and vocalist Abi Edwards will mix it up with covers of artists like Zach Bryan, The Eagles, Amy Winehouse, Taylor Swift, and Billie Eilish.
Velvet Rose, the seven-piece Chicago area band, will be offering a tribute to the 1970s R&B, Motown, funk, soulful blues, and dance music from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
The cover band Nerdvana will be delivering the songs from your favorite mixtapes from the ’90s from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Festival favorite Hi Infidelity, known for their renditions of 1980s rock anthems, will close out the two-day festival from 9 to 11 p.m. Saturday.
Car show
The Summer Daze Car Show, hosted by Countryside Customs, returns from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday in downtown Warrenville near the intersection of Butterfield and Batavia roads. There will be 23 classes with three awards in each class. In addition there will be seven Best of Awards.
The first 100 registered vehicles will receive a dash plaque and a T-shirt. Register by Aug. 7 for $10; day-of show registration will be $20 from 7 to 9:30 a.m.

Fun for kids
The Warrenville Park District will offer plenty of free kids’ activities from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
New this year, the Western DuPage Special Recreation Association will be offering a Sensory Tent from 5 to 8 p.m. both nights.
The kids’ fun includes a double slide, an inflatable basketball game, inflatable obstacle course, or the 3-in-1 inflatable carnival game.
Kids can also test their throwing skills by knocking down floating balls in the Knock Down Inflatable Carnival Game.
The festival is presented by Warrenville Park District, City of Warrenville and Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce. The festival is sponsored in part by the City of Warrenville Hotel Tax Fund.
