Get rid of unwanted documents Aug. 15 in Des Plaines

Des Plaines residents can have unwanted documents safely destroyed during an Aug. 15 shredding event at the public works headquarters, 1111 Joseph J. Schwab Road.

Documents will be accepted between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. Only Des Plaines residents can participate. Proof of residency may be required.

People can bring up to two boxes of documents to be destroyed. Business materials won’t be accepted.

Staples and paper clips don’t need to be removed, but larger clips and rubber bands should be removed before disposal.
