Search for missing Schaumburg man leads to unidentified body in Busse Woods
Cook Country Forest Preserves police are investigating the discovery unidentified human remains Sunday in Busse Woods North during a search for missing Schaumburg resident Anthony Richert.
The identity of the person found in the preserve near Elk Grove Village and their cause of death will be provided when available by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Forest preserve police say there’s no indication of a danger to the public.
Schaumburg police, meanwhile, continue to search for Richert. The 43-year-old was reported last seen by a family member leaving his residence at about 8 p.m. June 25. He suffers from several medical conditions requiring medication he didn’t have with him, authorities said.
Detectives located his vehicle parked at Busse Woods’ North Grove 2 and began coordinating searches with forest preserve police.
Richert is described as 6 feet tall and 200 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, black shorts, white socks, sandals and a baseball hat.
