Covenant Living of Northbrook provides educational grants to student employees
Covenant Living of Northbrook recently hosted its annual grants presentation event, recognizing seven graduating high school students who are members of the senior living community’s dining services team.
During the event, each student received a certificate announcing a $1,500 educational grant to support their continued academic pursuits. The grants are paid directly to the students’ university accounts and are intended to help ease the financial burden of higher education.
Those who received grants and the schools they’ll be attending include: Maria Zhang, Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts; Sherry Mo, University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana; Hadara Toledo, Harper College, Palatine; Ronnie Segundo, Illinois State University, Normal; Esmeralda Jaimes, Dominican University, River Forest; Vanessa Luna-Gutierrez, Roosevelt University, Chicago; and Tamara Donev, De Paul University, Chicago.
The grants are funded through the efforts of the Merry Market committee, Covenant Living of Northbrook’s resident-led fundraising organization. Through its fundraising the committee provides meaningful assistance to student employees as they take the next step in their educational journeys.
“We are proud to recognize these outstanding students for their hard work and dedication,” said Bob Martin, resident and Merry Market treasurer. “The Merry Market committee’s ongoing commitment to supporting education reflects the generosity of our residents and their investment in the future success of our team members.”
The annual grant distribution highlights Covenant Living of Northbrook’s commitment to fostering educational opportunities and celebrating the achievements of its student employees.
