Cause of predawn Winfield house fire probed

No one was injured after an early morning house fire broke out in Winfield Friday.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze and could not confirm reports that it happened following a lightning strike.

Winfield Fire Protection District crews and Winfield police responded to the emergency at about 3 a.m. The house is located on Summit Drive, officials said.

Damage estimates were not yet available.
