Artists wanted for Mundelein’s annual Lure of the Local exhibition
The Mundelein Arts Commission is seeking artists for its annual Lure of the Local exhibition this fall.
Launched in 2022, Lure of the Local highlights the work of artists in the Mundelein area. This year’s theme is “Love Letters.”
Artists can submit new work or existing pieces. Artwork in any medium is welcome, as are artists of any skill level.
A jury will determine what pieces comprise the exhibition. Prizes will be awarded.
Applications are available online at tinyurl.com/5n8ydf9s. The deadline is Aug. 30.
The exhibition will run weekends from Oct. 16 to Nov. 22 at the Archer Business Center, 175 N. Archer Ave., Mundelein. An opening reception is scheduled for 5 p.m. Oct. 16.
Public admission is free and open every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Art workshops, live musical performances and other activities will be scheduled.
Additionally, the commission welcomes applications for an artist residency program connected to the exhibition. Participating artists will be able to develop work in free studio space leading up to the exhibition and for a period afterward.
