Toms Price downsizes, renovates Wheaton store
WHEATON - Toms Price is reducing the size and renovating its landmark Wheaton store following the sale and lease-back agreement to College Church, the company announced.
The store that has been on Front Street since 1955 will be reduced from 62,000 square feet store area to 42,000 square feet. While store size will be condensed, owner Scott Price said the transformation will create an easier footprint to shop and an enhanced shopping experience.
"Retail is getting smaller but it is getting better," said Price.
A new Rug Studio, similar to ones opened at the company's Lincolnshire and Skokie stores, will be added. Joining the Rug Studio will be the relocated Design Center. The Stickley Furniture Gallery will also be moved and refreshed on the second floor of the newly configured showroom. Also, new painting and finishes are expected to be completed during October. Toms Price in Wheaton will also be home to the flagship T. Price Interiors brand.
A fourth-generation family owned business, Toms Price also has stores in Lincolnshire, Skokie, South Barrington and an outlet in Bloomingdale.
