Wheaton police hosting outdoor movie night, bike ride and more this summer
Wheaton police are hosting a series of family-friendly events around town this summer to help residents get to know the department’s officers.
The community engagement series continues with “Popsicles with a Cop,” set for 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, at Northside Park, 1300 N. West St.
Then “Bike with a Cop & Ice Cream with a Cop” will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. July 7 — the first Tuesday after the Fourth of July — at Seven Gables Park, 1750 S. Naperville Road.
The event will start with bike safety tips, followed by a ride around the park and ending with ice cream provided by Culver's. People are asked to preregister by filling out an online form on the city’s website to help plan for the number of participants.
Seven Gables also will be the site of a free movie night — a showing of “Zootopia 2” — with the Wheaton Park District on Thursday, July 16, starting at dusk.
