Man found dead in Schaumburg pond identified as village resident

Schaumburg police have released the name of a man found dead in an office park retention pond May 27 after notifying his family.

He was 52-year-old Brian O’Connor of Schaumburg.

Officers responded to the 1800 block of Walden Office Square at 6:20 a.m. May 27 for a report of a body in the pond.

Police said there were no obvious signs of trauma. The Cook County medical examiner’s office performed an autopsy the following day, but any ruling on cause and manner of death are still awaiting toxicology results.
