Fire results in extensive damage to home in Fox River Grove

A fire of undetermined cause resulted in extensive damage late Friday to a home being renovated in Fox River Grove.

Firefighters called about 11:52 p.m. to the 10000 block of Victoria Drive found the rear of the home engulfed in flames. The two story home was being renovated and did not have full-time occupants, said Deputy Chief Eldee Jackson.

Fox River Grove was assisted by eight neighboring jurisdictions. Crews were on the scene about three hours. The fire was extinguished without issue and no injuries were reported, Jackson said.

Jackson said propane tanks on the porch exploded but the cause of the fire is being investigated. He said the damage was significant but no damage estimate was given.
