West Chicago High student wins Bauer Built Scholarship
Bauer Built Inc. recently announced that Valeria Ballines from West Chicago Community High School is one of the winners of the G.F. “Sam” and Ethel V. Bauer/Bauer Built Inc. Scholarship Award.
Bauer Built introduced this program in 1994 in commemoration of their 50th anniversary and in honor of their founders, G.F. “Sam” and Ethel V. Bauer.
Valeria will be awarded $2,000 upon completing her first semester of post-secondary education. Since 1994, Bauer Built has awarded $192,000 in scholarships.
Valeria is the daughter of Omar and Ariadnna Ballines. Omar is a heavy duty tire technician at the Bauer Built Tire Center in Romeoville. Valeria’s plans are to attend the University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign and pursue a career in biomedical engineering.

• Bo Haubrich from Danville Jr/Sr High School in Danville, Iowa
• Madden Richardson from Elkhorn North High School in Omaha, Nebraska
• Claire Thielen from River Falls High School in River Falls, Wisconsin
• Amelia Weber from Menomonie High School in Menomonie, Wisconsin
