McHenry man charged after unprovoked knife attack at hotel
An unprovoked knife attack at a McHenry hotel caused serious injuries and landed a man in jail early Saturday morning, McHenry police said.
Colin Foster, 28, of 919 W. Dale Ave., McHenry, was charged with attempted murder and with two counts of aggravated battery with great bodily harm. He was taken to the McHenry County Jail to await a court date, police said.
McHenry police said that at about 12:02 a.m. Saturday officers responded to a disturbance at the Hampton Inn, 1555 S. Route 31.
A preliminary investigation found Foster made an unprovoked attack with a knife on a 48-year-old man. Stabbed multiple times, the man was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Foster also attacked a 38-year-old man at the hotel, but police said the man did not suffer any knife wounds.
There was no connection between the three men, who were overnight guests at the hotel, police stated. Police arrested Foster at the scene.
