Streamwood police investigating death of woman likely struck by vehicle
Streamwood police are investigating the death of a 68-year-old woman who was likely struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning in a residential area on the village’s far northeast side.
At about 5 a.m., Streamwood officers and paramedics were sent to the area of Oak Knoll Court and Williamsburg Drive for a report of an unresponsive person in the road.
Lifesaving measures were attempted, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation suggested she had been accidentally struck by a vehicle. The circumstances remain under investigation.
Streamwood police said the woman’s identity is being withheld, pending her autopsy Wednesday.
They did not say whether the vehicle or driver involved had been identified either.
The department received assistance from the county’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.
