McHenry firefighters find side of home in flames
The McHenry Township Fire Protection District (MTFPD) extinguished a single-family house fire in McHenry Monday afternoon.
At approximately 4:39 p.m., fire crews responded to a reported structure fire in the 4900 block of Joyce Court in McHenry.
According to a MTFPD press release, crews arrived within 5 minutes to find a single-family dwelling with fire showing on the side of the house and smoke coming from the roofline. Upon arrival, McHenry Police Officers were escorting one occupant away from the home.
Firefighters were able to fully extinguish the fire on the side of the home and inside the attic. While no injuries were reported, the home was deemed uninhabitable due to smoke and water damage.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the MTFPD.
