Two teens charged after break-in at Bartlett business
A pair of 16-year-old boys were charged with burglary and criminal damage to property after their arrest in connection with the break-in of a business in Bartlett early Monday morning.
Bartlett officers discovered the broken front door glass of a business at about 3 a.m. They determined a cash register along with an undisclosed amount of cash had been taken.
With assistance from Woodridge police, a vehicle believed to be involved with the crime was located. The two teens were arrested.
Investigators secured a search warrant and recovered the register and about $360 in cash inside the car.
Both are now facing charges in DuPage County, though one teen is also charged with aggravated batter to a police officer for a separate incident in Cook County, authorities said.
The teens were taken to the Juvenile Justice Center in St. Charles for detention. Their future court dates haven’t been determined yet.
