Wheaton’s Gary UMC launches two-week Creation Care series

On Sunday, May 3, Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main St. in Wheaton, will begin a two-week series on caring for all creation.

It will start with Nancy Cinatl from The Conservation Foundation presenting “Stewarding Creation with Native Plants.”

Learn how integrating native plants into your garden can help steward God’s creation while creating a natural habitat that benefits creatures great and small — including you!

On Sunday, May 10, this session will center on a TED Talk by Katherine Hayhoe, Chief Scientist at The Nature Conservancy, followed by conversation and reflection.

No matter your perspective, discover how to have a respectful, productive dialogue about this topic.

Both programs will begin at 10:10 a.m.

The church has vibrant music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions. Sunday worship is at 9 and 11:11 a.m. In-between services, there’s Sunday school for all ages, a coffee fellowship hour, plus the chapel is available for prayer and reflection.
