American Legion Family Day at Wauconda Post 911

American Legion family day will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at Wauconda American Legion Post 911, 515 S. Main St., Wauconda.

The free event features police, fire and Wauconda Township touch-a-trucks, a police meet-and-greet, a petting zoo, and free hot dogs, chips and water.

The event celebrates the efforts of Legionnaires, Sons of the American Legion, Legion Riders and American Legion Auxiliary to bring awareness to the “Be the One” initiative to reduce the rate of veteran suicide.
