Mount Prospect police searching for armed car burglars
Mount Prospect police are looking for five men wanted in connection with an armed car burglary early Tuesday morning.
Police said two of the five appeared armed with handguns in surveillance video that shows the 5:20 a.m. break-in on the 1700 block of East Camp McDonald Road.
The car’s owner reported the break-in later in the day after reviewing footage of the thieves entering her Chevrolet Camaro and rifling around inside. Nothing appeared to have been stolen. The thieves damaged the car’s driver-side door, according to a police department news release.
The thieves, all described as white men wearing dark-colored clothes, fled in two vehicles. One vehicle was described as a light-colored sedan and the second was a dark-colored SUV, according to the release.
Anyone with information about the burglary is urged to call the Mount Prospect Police Department’s investigations section at (847) 870-5654.
