Body of unidentified man found in Schaumburg pond
Schaumburg police are investigating the death of an unidentified adult man whose body was found floating in a pond Friday afternoon.
Deputy Police Chief Joe Dugan said authorities were notified at about 2 p.m. by workers cleaning the pond at the intersection of Algonquin Road and Parkside Drive that something resembling a human body was in the water.
The body was recovered within about half an hour, Dugan said. The man appeared to be middle-aged, but the only clear description that could be provided was that he was wearing a dark-colored hooded coat.
The man was fingerprinted as part of the early efforts to identify him. Schaumburg police are conducting their investigation in conjunction with the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
