Let’s play two: Harper College baseball team set for games at Wintrust Field

Harper College’s baseball team will play a pair of doubleheaders at Wintrust Field, the home of minor league team the Schaumburg Boomers. The Harper Hawks will take the field against the Morton College Panthers at 2 p.m. Friday, March 20, at the Schaumburg stadium, 1999 South Springinsguth Road.

Admission is free to the March 20 event, which will consist of two seven-inning games. Harper will be the away team.

A few weeks later, the Hawks will be the home team when facing the Rock Valley College Golden Eagles at 3 p.m. Friday, April 10, at Wintrust Field, for another pair of seven-inning games. For more information, visit HarperHawks.net.

Harper’s baseball players also have received attention for their work off the field. The team, coached by Dominic Milano, recently partnered with a fourth-grade classroom at Rupley Elementary School in Elk Grove Village. Team members visited on Thursdays and Fridays to encourage students and celebrate their accomplishments.
