Toy gun leads to lockdown at Benedictine University
Benedictine University was locked down for a short time Tuesday night while Lisle police and campus security officers investigated a report of a person with a gun.
It turned out to be a Nerf gun, according to campus safety director Brad Delphey.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. in a residence hall area. University officials sent an alert to students and faculty members telling them to shelter in place.
