Wesley’s in La Grange hosts acoustic triple bill March 13

Wesley’s Place, a live music venue, will feature an acoustic triple bill on Friday, March 13. The concert starts at 7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of La Grange, 100 W. Cossitt Ave.

Jim Gary is an acoustic singer-songwriter. He grew up in southeastern Michigan listening to all the great sounds of the 1960s. He more recently has embarked on transcribing and performing selections from the catalogue of the late Chicago songwriter Michael P. Smith. Learn more at jimgary.com.

The Milkman’s Kids is an acoustic trio well known in the western suburbs. They offer a wide range of songs and styles including bluegrass, new grass, to folk, jazz and everything thing in-between, accompanying themselves on guitar, mandolin, mandocello, flute, harmonica and penny whistle.

Folk singer songwriter Mark Dvorak will host the evening and perform an opening set. Dvorak’s original material has been called “wondrous” and “profound.” In 2012 WFMT 98.7 FM Midnight Special radio show named him “Chicago’s official troubadour.” Learn more at www.markdvorak.com.

Since 2022 Wesley’s Place Live Music Venue has been presenting live music in the chapel at the First United Methodist Church of La Grange, 100 W. Cossitt Ave.

“We’ve expanded our program for the 2026 season,” said Ed Ellis, founder of Wesley’s Place. “We’ve added more shows to the schedule, and improved our publicity effort. Our last show was a near sellout. We’re really excited.”
