DuPage County Historical Museum has a full exhibit & event schedule planned for 2026
The DuPage County Historical Museum in Wheaton has planned several new events for 2026, including Trivia Night: Americana, Sacred Spaces Bus Tour, Preview Brunch for Route 66, and Night at the Museum.
The Trivia Night: Americana event on March 6 will be a fun evening filled with challenging guests about American history and pop culture facts. This 21-and-older event will include a cash bar will be available along with snacks. Tickets are available now for $200 per team or individually for $40, plus processing fee.
The Sacred Spaces Bus Tour on May 15 will take participants on a journey through DuPage County exploring a variety of beautiful and meaningful Houses of Worship. The Preview Brunch for Route 66 is set for Aug. 15 and the Night at the Museum for Oct. 2.
Current and upcoming exhibits include “Cabinet of Curiosities, “which is open now through May, “Defining US: The 250th Anniversary of the United States” opening on July 15, and a pop-up exhibit on Route 66 titled “The Mother Road & Iconic Firsts” which is opening Aug. 15 to Nov. 14.
Tickets for Sacred Spaces Tour, Preview Brunch for Route 66 and Night at the Museum will be available soon at dupagemuseum.org.
Supporting organizations include DuPage Convention and Visitors Bureau for their partnership with the Route 66 exhibit and Arts DuPage, a DuPage Foundation initiative and the History DuPage Fund of DuPage Foundation who provided grant funding to the Museum for the 2026 exhibits and related programming.
“We’re looking forward to a year of exciting events in support of the DuPage County Historical Museum Foundation. There is something for everyone to get involved with throughout the year. I hope you’ll join us!,” said Jenny Ackerman, development manager.
The DuPage County Historical Museum, which operates as a facility of the Wheaton Park District, is housed in a stately Richardsonian Romanesque-style building that opened in 1891 as Adams Memorial Library. It is home to more than 40,000 artifacts and a photography archive of more than 10,000 images.
The museum is free to the public and open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on weekends from noon to 4 p.m.
