Addison man charged with indecent solicitation after private citizens start investigation
An Addison man has been charged with indecent solicitation of a child after an online sting conducted by private individuals.
According to DuPage County court records, Michael R. Rovituso Minneci, 33, is also charged with grooming, solicitation to meet a minor, sexual exploitation of a child, all felonies, according to DuPage County court records.
The charges were filed Feb. 8.
The charges state that around 8:46 p.m. Feb. 7, Rovituso Minneci used an electronic device to send messages to a girl he believed to be 13 years old, trying to get her to meet him.
Prosecutors sought to have Rovituso Minneci denied release.
According to their petition for detention, Rovituso Minneci accepted a Facebook friend request from a girl named Jazmine in August 2025. Jazmine was really a decoy invented by a group of adults, according to the petition.
An adult acting as Jazmine unsuccessfully tried to confront Rovituso Minneci at his house in November. Addison police were told of the investigation and given copies of the message exchange.
Police began investigating.
On Feb. 7, individuals posing as Jazmine contacted police again. They said Rovituso Minneci had arranged to meet Jazmine at a hotel in Addison. Someone from the group, wearing a body camera, confronted Rovituso Minneci in the hotel’s parking lot, according to the petition.
Rovituso Minneci began to drive off, but police arrived and eventually apprehended him, according to the petition.
A judge ordered that Rovituso Minneci be held in jail. His next court date is Wednesday.
