Authorities: Crystal Lake man sent sexual messages to girl

A Crystal Lake man is charged with grooming.

Thursday night, a woman told Crystal Lake police someone was sending her daughter, a minor, inappropriate messages of a sexual nature via an instant messaging app.

Clicerio Alvarez Mascote, 58, of 300 block of Lancaster Drive, was arrested Friday morning.

He is charged with one felony count of grooming.

He is due to appear in McHenry County Circuit Court Feb. 13.
