Mullan named Bank of America regional executive
Barry Mullan of Mount Prospect has been promoted to Bank of America Consumer Bank Region executive for Chicago and Michigan, overseeing more than 200 financial centers across both markets.
Mullan has been with Bank of America for 29 years, beginning his career as a part-time teller. Since then, he has held a variety of leadership roles including financial center manager, market leader and performance manager. He is a multiyear recipient of the company’s prestigious Valiant and Pinnacle awards for going above and beyond what’s expected during challenging times.
In his new role, Mullan will continue to drive local growth while deepening community connections in both Chicago and west Michigan.
Cohen & Co expands downtown footprint
Cohen & Co, a nationally ranked accounting firm, is nearly doubling its office space in downtown Chicago to accommodate continued growth.
The firm has moved into more than 8,500 square feet at 191 N. Wacker, Suite 2125.
Through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisition — including the March 2025 acquisition of real estate accounting firm Tassi and Company in Deer Park — Cohen & Co has grown to more than 80 professionals in the Chicago area.
The Chicago region is one of the firm’s largest geographic markets, enhancing its national real estate service offering.
Cohen & Co entered the Chicago market in 2018, focusing primarily on services tailored to the investment industry. Today, the Chicago office deploys the firm’s full suite of assurance, tax and advisory services, including transaction advisory, management consulting and valuation services, to clients in investment, real estate, private equity and beyond.
“Our new office gives us the space we need to accommodate our accelerated growth and meet the expanding needs of our clients,” says Cohen & Co partner Vince Curttright. “This move reflects our commitment to downtown Chicago and our confidence in the future we’re building in this important market.”
