Dining out: Giordano’s ‘Da Pizza’ honors ’85 Bears, new nightlife spot in St. Charles and more
Da Pizza
Giordano’s is honoring the 40th anniversary of the 1985 Super Bowl Champion Chicago Bears with a limited-edition pie that the Fridge would love.
Da Pizza is loaded with pork and beef meatballs, pepperoni and giardiniera and can be ordered in their signature stuffed deep-dish style, traditional thin or their new tavern-style crust.
It’s available for dine-in, carryout and delivery at participating Giordano’s locations and can be shipped nationwide. If you’re dining in you can get the “85 Style,” which features an 85 stenciled in Parmesan cheese on top.
Da Pizza is available through Feb. 9, aka the day after the Bears win Super Bowl LX.
New in St. Charles on NYE
Playa Bar & Music Lounge, a tropical-inspired restaurant and cocktail lounge, will open its doors on New Year’s Eve, promising coastal flavors, vibrant energy and relaxed sophistication in St. Charles.
Located at 2061 Lincoln Hwy. (southeast corner of Randall Road and Route 38), Playa owners say the new spot will blend nightlife, bold gastronomy, spirit-driven mixology and a curated music format from resident DJs.
The NYE grand opening will feature a midnight countdown, confetti drop and champagne toast, along with a lineup of DJs, specialty cocktails and late-night dining options.
The new spot comes from Arechiga Restaurant Group, owners of Hacienda Real, Salsa Verde, Revolucion and a host of other suburban Mexican restaurants. It’s the group’s first nightlife-driven concept in Illinois.
