Wheaton’s Gary UMC hosts family Christmas Eve service
People of all ages will participate in sharing the story of the birth of Jesus at the 4 p.m. Christmas Eve family service at Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main St. in Wheaton.
The service will celebrate the light of Christ, and children will have the opportunity to decorate a lantern to present during worship. Lanterns, along with decorating supplies and design ideas, will be available beginning at 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
For those who prefer, lantern kits will also be provided for children to complete during the service. The church offers three candlelight services on Wednesday, Dec. 24: family Christmas Eve worship at 4 p.m., traditional Christmas Eve worship at 7 p.m. and traditional Christmas Eve worship with Communion at 9 p.m.
The church has vibrant music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions. Worship is at 9 and 11:11 a.m. Sundays. In-between services, there’s Sunday school for all ages, a coffee fellowship hour, plus the chapel is available for prayer and reflection.
