Streamwood police arrest Hampshire man on battery charge after seven-hour standoff

A 33-year-old Hampshire man faces a charge following a seven-hour standoff with Streamwood police last week, authorities said Monday.

Police arrived at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on the 900 block of Kings Canyon Drive after receiving a report of a domestic battery in progress.

According to police, Chance Cager barricaded himself inside a residence before police arrested him at 11:13 p.m. Police were assisted by the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System.

Cager is charged with criminal damage to property. He was released by Streamwood police and taken to the DuPage County jail in Wheaton Friday for having two county warrants.
