Hinsdale Hallelujah concert features Handel’s ‘Messiah’ and Mozart concerto
The Musical Arts of Greater Chicago, a newly established 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is transforming Hinsdale into a hub for classical music, uniting young prodigies, professional musicians, and community volunteers on one stage.
In partnership with Hinsdale Seventh-day Adventist Church and UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Hinsdale, the nonprofit presents a free concert featuring Handel’s Messiah and Mozart’s Coronation Concerto on Saturday, Dec. 6.
Under the baton of Reid Taylor, the performance features professional soloists Maria Kanyova, Vera Schmitz, Michelle Wrighte, John Concepcion, and Jeff Ray; pianist Justin Gjata; a professional orchestra; and a combined volunteer and professional choir.
“A Hinsdale Hallelujah” featuring Mozart’s “Coronation” Concerto and selections from Handel’s “Messiah” will begin at 6 p.m. at Hinsdale Seventh-day Adventist Church, 201 N. Oak St. in Hinsdale.
The event is free and open to the public. A freewill offering will be collected.
