Roselle Lions’ 51st annual Lunch with Santa to benefit food pantries
The Roselle Lions Club is hosting its 51st annual Lunch With Santa from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 405 S. Rush
Admission to the event is canned goods or paper products to be donated to the Roselle Community Food Pantry. In lieu of products, the club will accept cash donations which will also benefit the food pantry.
Food is essential to daily living and especially at this time of year the supply at food pantries dwindles. Kids who bring food to the event will be given lunch, a “goodie” bag, have face painting and have the opportunity to visit with Santa and have pictures taken while at the same time assuring that someone will not be hungry this holiday season.
Over the past 51 years, the Lions Club has collected over two tons of food and other items for local food pantries. The goal for 2025 is to collect at least 1,000 items.
For the sixth year in a row, a local group of Jeep enthusiasts called Jeeps on the Run will visit the church with pantry items in their Jeeps. There are 20 holiday decorated Jeeps expected to attend. The Jeeps will arrive in a parade at 1:30 p.m.
