Who had the area’s top prep football performances in Week 5?

Well look at that … we have a kicker in the house.

The High Five rolls on after another outstanding week of prep football. Let’s take a look at the area’s top performances from Week 5.

5. Amare Williams, LB, WW South

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound senior, a Minnesota State recruit, came up big in a 35-28 DuKane Conference victory over Glenbard North.

Williams snared an interception and returned it 36 yards for a go-ahead touchdown, just one part of an overall bruising performance. He also deflected a pass in the waning minutes as the Panthers tried to rally.

Williams finished with 11 tackles, including three for loss, and two sacks.

4. Owen Fors, OL-DL, Barrington

The Broncos dominated up front in a 42-21 Mid-Suburban West win over Palatine.

The 6-4, 300-pound Northwestern-bound left tackle paved the way for 275 rushing yards and six touchdowns on the ground with linemates Ben Knuth, Nick Rivera, Jack Kavanagh and Malcolm George.

On a hot Saturday afternoon, Fors was also a menace on the defensive line with his consistent quarterback pressure.

3. Dario Milivojevic, WR, St. Francis

The Spartans needed every bit of Milivojevic’s magic in a 47-35 CCL/ESCC victory over Providence.

The 5-11, 175 pound senior, committed to Southern Illinois University, tore up the secondary with six catches for 177 yards and touchdowns of 31, 13, 34 and 61 yards. Milivojevic also had three tackles on defense.

2. J.T. Padron, QB, St. Charles North

The 6-4, 210-pound senior led another epic comeback win for the North Stars.

The stunning rally began with St. Charles North trailing by two touchdowns with less than three minutes remaining. Padron connected with E.J. Mondesir for a 7-yard touchdown to bring his team within 42-41.

Padron then threw a 2-point conversion pass to Chris Akepede for the win with 0.9 seconds left. He completed 32 of 58 passes for 342 yards and four touchdowns.

Mondesir and Keaton Reinke each finished with over 100 receiving yards.

1. Jack Zaban, K, Libertyville

Rated as one of the top kickers and punters in the nation, Zaban set a program record in a 17-7 North Suburban Conference win over Mundelein.

Zaban blasted a 57-yard field goal, which tied him for fourth longest in IHSA history. It’s the longest field goal in Illinois since 2004, and it set the Libertyville and conference record.

The junior’s kick came four weeks after he broke another program record by making three field goals in a game.
