1 dead, 2 others hurt in early morning Wood Dale house fire

One person is dead and two other residents were hurt in an early morning house fire Tuesday in Wood Dale.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the victim of the fire as 44-year-old Rebekah Coyne.

She was transported to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village where she died from her injuries.

Wood Dale Fire Protection District officials said two other residents were transported to hospitals. Their conditions are unknown.

Firefighters were called to the single-family home on the 100 block of Edgebrook Road at about 1:40 a.m.

The house sustained significant damage, rendering it uninhabitable, fire officials said. It did have working smoke detectors.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
