Environmental Resource Fair set for Saturday in Streamwood
Cook County District 15 Commissioner Kevin Morrison will host a free in-person Environmental Resource Fair from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Rahlfs Woods in Streamwood featuring a wide variety of family-friendly events and activities.
“Protecting our environment is one of the most important responsibilities we share as a community,” Morrison said in a statement. “From learning how to reduce waste and plant pollinator-friendly gardens, to exploring clean energy options and safe, sustainable transportation, the Environmental Resource Fair brings together resources and ideas that all of us can use in our day to day lives.”
Each co-sponsor will have a table set up with information and activities. They include Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Commissioner Eira Corral Sepúlveda, Poplar Creek Library District, Streamwood Park District, the village of Streamwood, Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court Mariyana Spyropoulos, the Cook County Department of Environment and Sustainability, Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency, Ride Illinois, the Citizens Utility Board, WWM International, Pace bus, Schaumburg Monarch Initiative, 350 Chicago, Chicago for EVs and the Trickster Cultural Center.
Rahlfs Woods is at 1350 S. Park Ave. in Streamwood. If there’s inclement weather, the fair will be held inside the Poplar Creek Library at 1405 S. Park Ave. in Streamwood.
