Schaumburg officer named state’s American Legion Police Officer of the Year
Schaumburg Community Engagement Officer Emily Zuhr was recently named Illinois American Legion Police Officer of the Year at the group’s conference and will be honored again at its national convention this month.
Zuhr was nominated for her outstanding contributions in establishing the Schaumburg Police Department's Quality of Life Division.
She was recognized for demonstrating remarkable initiative and commitment to coordinating Crisis Intervention Team efforts and instituting a comprehensive system for identifying and addressing quality of life issues in the village.
Zuhr’s proactive approach to engaging with residents to strengthen trust and collaboration within the community was seen as exceptional.
