Lombard Historical Society to host herbal body care workshop

The Lombard Historical Society continues its popular three-part self-care series with a hands-on program that taps into the healing power of the garden.

Join herbalist Marcy Lautanen-Raleigh of Backyard Patch Herbs for “Powdered Perfection: Crafting Herbal Body Care with Dry Ingredients” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, in the Carriage House, 23 W. Maple St.

In this second installment of the series, participants will explore how to use dried herbs, natural clays, and plant-based powders to create luxurious, all-natural body care products. During the workshop, guests will learn how to craft their own herbal bath soak and take home a custom-blended creation.

Whether you're interested in herbal remedies, natural wellness, or simply looking to add a little garden-inspired calm to your self-care routine, this event is for you. No prior experience is needed — just bring your curiosity and creativity!

This is a free program, but space is limited and registration is required. Reserve your spot today at LombardHistory.org.

About Marcy Lautanen-Raleigh

Marcy Lautanen-Raleigh has been growing and blending herbs since 1994, originally sparked by a search for flavorful, high-quality tea ingredients. Over the years, she expanded her passion into Backyard Patch Herbs, a small business dedicated to creating herbal blends for cooking, tea, and self-care.

Inspired by her husband's health needs, all of her products are thoughtfully made to be salt-free, preservative-free, and organic whenever possible. Her mission is simple: to provide wholesome, chemical-free herb blends that bring flavor and wellness into everyday life.
