Fox River Grove wins financial reporting award for 5th year

The village of Fox River Grove has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending April 30, 2024. This marks the fifth consecutive year the village has received this distinction.

The Certificate of Achievement is considered the highest recognition in governmental financial reporting. The award highlights reports that go beyond minimum requirements to present financial data clearly, thoroughly, and in a way that enhances public understanding.

An impartial panel of experts reviews each submission to ensure it meets the program’s rigorous criteria, including transparency, completeness, and accessibility.

Village President Marc McLaughlin praised the work of village staff in achieving this milestone.

“Receiving this award for the fifth year in a row reflects the village’s strong commitment to sound financial practices and open communication,” said President McLaughlin. “Our staff continues to demonstrate professionalism and care in how we manage and report public funds.”

This recognition reaffirms the village’s ongoing efforts to provide residents and stakeholders with accurate and meaningful financial information that supports trust and informed decision-making.
