Six Chicago men indicted in commercial burglaries

Six men from the Chicago area have been indicted on 98 charges related to a string of commercial burglaries across Cook and Lake counties, officials announced Friday.

According to police, Demario M. Brown, 26; Dequane J. Hall, 26; Jimmy C. Hall, 30; Antonio Lewis, 26; Darryl D. Williamson, 26; and Marquise D. Williamson, 24, committed numerous crimes between February 2024 and May 2025. The group initially focused on the theft of catalytic converters but eventually started burglarizing stores across Chicago and the suburbs with ATMs, and later high-end liquor stores and cosmetic retailers. Businesses lost an estimated $1 million, according to officials.

The men used stolen cars during the string of burglaries and were chased by police on numerous occasions. The offenders fled at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour, and law enforcement was unsuccessful at apprehending the vehicles.

The Arlington Heights and Vernon Hills police departments spearheaded the investigation and were joined by more than 20 jurisdictions from the Chicago area for the “Operation Last Call” investigation.

Detectives worked with prosecutors from the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, leading to the nearly 100 charges. The case is being prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office with assistance from the DuPage County state’s attorney.
