Document-shredding event Saturday in Maine Township

Maine Township residents can safely dispose of unwanted documents without charge Saturday, May 31, at township hall, 1700 Ballard Road, Park Ridge.

Township officials will collect documents for shredding between 9 a.m. and noon.

Participants should bring no more than three plastic or paper bags of documents. They should remove paper clips, binder clips and rubber bands but don’t have to remove staples.

Spiral notebooks and plastic notebooks won’t be accepted.
